We are deeply saddened to report that Hayes Large Architects, LLP closed on Friday, November 20th after almost 94 years of service.
As you may know, Hayes Large filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection in October of 2014. Since that time, we have worked diligently to reorganize the firm, and were able to return it to a profitable position during 2015. We fully expected to emerge from bankruptcy this fall. However, a Creditors Committee was formed, and despite our efforts to negotiate an acceptable path forward, the Committee took legal action to force the closure of our firm. Our Chapter 11 case was converted to Chapter 7 on November 18, 2015 as a result of this impasse.
While we are profoundly disappointed by this unexpected turn of events and the end of a legacy firm, we are at the same time incredibly thankful for the continued support and trust demonstrated by our clients, friends and colleagues over this last year. We are doing what we can to take care of our clients and their ongoing projects before the court mandated closure date. We regret the inconvenience caused by the sudden nature of this transition, and sincerely hope that our clients’ needs will be met and their work completed successfully.
